Jessica Can Play Guitar In Her New Home
Jessica describes herself as a happy and positive person, who loves to play the guitar, work hard, and “be a productive member of society.” She says that she didn’t always feel that way, however. When she was struggling, it was really hard to imagine feeling good about anything.
Future Social Worker Bubbles
Bubbles’ goal is to finish school to become a social worker. She is determined to help people like her, “young people who were damaged by how they grew up, and are homeless because they’re really lost and in a lot of pain. Not because there is anything wrong with them.”
Army Veteran Kathy
When Kathy contacted ECHO for assistance, she was immediately connected to the Veteran Services Team. Housing Case Manager, Nicole, quickly arranged for an emergency short-term hotel stay to get Kathy safely indoors while searching for safe, stable, permanent housing.
Happy Move-In Day Tara!
Tara experienced homelessness off and on for the last several years before arriving at ECHO’s Transitional House for women. She spent her time there working hard to achieve her goals – including maintaining employment, learning how to budget, and securing permanent housing.
Army Veteran Harry
A Coast RTA bus driver connected Harry with ECHO’s Veteran Intake Coordinator, John Mention. Mr. Mention got the Veteran into emergency shelter and enrolled him ECHO’s Rapid Rehousing program for Veterans. Each Morning, Harry would meet Mr. Mention outside the shelter to smoke a cigarette, and let him know that he was doing everything he was supposed to and couldn’t wait to move into his “condo.”
