Army Veteran Pernet Gets a New Home and Furniture

This Army Veteran has a place of his own to call home!

Pernet was experiencing homelessness when he came to John’s Place (ECHO’s bridge housing program for Veterans) in January. Over the next three months, Pernet worked to achieve his goals – including saving money, focusing on his health, and finding safe, affordable, permanent housing. He also grew to be regarded by the other residents as someone who was always supportive and set good examples.

On move-in day, two truckloads of donated furniture arrived from his fellow Veterans to help make Pernet’s new house into a home. Pernet is extremely grateful, and said that he can’t wait to unpack his bags and hang his new blinds.

Happy Move-in Day, Pernet!
