The Eastern Carolina Housing Organization (ECHO) is proud to announce the selection of Gloria Rendon as its new Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). 
Rendon, a United States Army Combat Veteran and licensed clinician, brings a distinguished background in addiction counseling, performance psychology, and trauma-informed leadership to the organization. Her selection marks a pivotal step in ECHO’s continued commitment to addressing homelessness and the complex, co-occurring challenges facing individuals and families across Horry and surrounding counties.
The selection of Rendon reflects ECHO’s growing focus on aligning housing, recovery, and behavioral health care as part of a unified strategy to reduce homelessness in Eastern Carolina.
With two decades of service across clinical, community, and military settings, Rendon will oversee the development of ECHO’s behavioral health strategy, clinical operations, and integrated care initiatives. She will work closely with community partners to expand access to evidence-based treatment, peer-led recovery housing, and person-centered support services.
“ECHO’s mission has always been rooted in compassion, dignity, and collaboration,” said Joey Smoak, Chief Executive Officer. “Gloria brings the leadership and expertise needed to deepen that mission. Her clinical vision, veteran perspective, and experience in addiction and performance psychology will strengthen how we serve our community.”
Rendon shared her enthusiasm for joining ECHO’s leadership team and advancing its mission:
