Remembering Briley: A Beloved CFO and Friend

Richard Briley Altman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend and Chief Financial Officer, Briley Altman. Since ECHO’s very beginning, Briley has been a guiding light and a source of wisdom whose presence brought joy to all who knew him.

Briley’s contributions to our mission are immeasurable. He had a unique ability to blend his financial acumen with genuine compassion, always making time to help anyone in need. His dedication was evident in every action he took, and his passion for serving was truly inspiring.

Our CEO, Joey Smoak, shared these heartfelt words: “Briley was a kind and caring soul and ‘will be missed’ is an understatement. He was truly like my brother. Please pray for his family. He loved and cared for each one of us.”

Here are just some of the comments from our ECHO team:

“Briley was not just a work associate but a great and caring friend. He will be missed terribly by all who came in contact with him. He was truly passionate about ECHO’s mission, and I hope we can all make him proud by the work we will continue to do here to relieve the pain and stigma of homelessness.”

“Briley was such a bright spot in the lives of everyone he encountered. He was always the first to raise his hand and step up to help however he could. Briley’s heart was always in the forefront of everything he did. He is so greatly loved and will be so greatly missed.”

“Briley’s contagious smile will be truly missed. His soul was so pure and full of life. He always pushed us to be better and had amazing advice! Heaven received such an amazing gift yesterday; those angels were singing.”

“He was always so kind and caring and willing to help me with anything I asked of him. We even discussed personal finances because his compassion for us did not just include work. He truly loved everyone with his whole heart, and he will be greatly missed by the entire team here at ECHO.”

Briley’s spirit will live on in the work we continue to do and in the memories we hold dear. He was loved by all, and his legacy will forever be a part of ECHO. Our thoughts and prayers are with Briley’s family and all who were touched by his kindness and generosity.

Rest in peace, dear friend. You will be profoundly missed.
