Through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program, ECHO’s permanent housing initiatives provide comprehensive support to veterans, including case management, housing placement, and access to essential services. In addition to providing permanent housing through its SSVF program, ECHO operates a transitional bridge housing program at its newly remodeled NardMoor facility in Myrtle Beach. NardMoor offers up to 40 single male veterans temporary housing and support as they work towards long-term stability.
“These people served our country and to say it’s a gratitude for their service would be an understatement,” said Joey Smoak, CEO. ECHO’s goal is to ensure that every veteran in our region has a safe place to call home.
ECHO’s Veteran Outreach Team is the first point of contact for veterans experiencing homelessness. They go above and beyond to meet veterans wherever they are, both physically and emotionally. “Our outreach team is the backbone of our housing efforts. They are on the frontlines, ensuring that no veteran is left behind and getting them connected to the support they deserve,” said Ricky Prather, Veteran Outreach and Intake Coordinator. ECHO encourages community members to reach out if they know of a veteran experiencing homelessness. If you know a veteran in need, please contact the Veteran Outreach Team at 843-492-2594.
