Art from the Heart Fundraiser Raises $50,000

Eastern Carolina Housing Organization (ECHO) is thrilled to announce the outstanding success of our first annual fundraiser, Art from the Heart. The event, which featured art generously donated by local artists, exceeded all expectations by raising over $10,000 in art sales alone. The fundraiser as a whole raised close to $50,000, marking a significant milestone for our organization’s efforts to provide affordable housing solutions to those experiencing a housing crisis in our community.

Art from the Heart, held at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club on February 10, brought together art enthusiasts, philanthropists, supporting partners, and community members alike to support our mission of breaking the cycles of homelessness for individuals and families in our community. The event showcased a diverse collection of unique artworks, ranging from paintings and sculptures to photographs and crafts, all generously contributed by talented local artists who share our commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

“We are overwhelmed by the incredible support we received for our inaugural Art from the Heart fundraiser,” said Joey Smoak, Chief Executive Officer at ECHO. “The generosity of our local artists, donors, and supporters has surpassed our expectations, and we are grateful for their contributions towards our goal of ensuring everyone has a safe place to call home.”

The funds raised through Art from the Heart will directly benefit ECHO’s programs and initiatives, including transitional housing, permanent housing services, and affordable housing development projects. These resources will enable us to continue providing vital support to individuals and families experiencing housing challenges, empowering them to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

ECHO extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in and supported Art from the Heart. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, and we look forward to continuing our mission with the unwavering support of our community.
