Navy Veteran Richard’s Move In Day

While the whole world is currently challenged with caring for its people responsibly amidst COVID-19, ECHO remains focused on safely housing our most vulnerable community members.

Navy Veteran, Richard, had experienced homelessness off and on for the last several years. Before coming to ECHO, he had been sleeping in the woods for eight months.

With support from ECHO’s Veteran Services team, last week Richard moved into his own, safe, permanent home.

Richard’s Housing Case Manager, Kim, describes the distancing precautions she took while ending this Veteran’s homelessness: “I unlocked the unit, and then sat in the car while Richard went in to inspect it. He gave me a thumbs up and walked away, so I could leave his lease and the donated Welcome Home Basket and groceries inside his new place. Richard signed his lease and left it for me at the door step. He was so incredibly happy!”

Happy Move-in Day, Richard!
